Welcome to the SoapBox

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out this new creation of mine. Undoubtedly most of you passers-by were linked in from my incessant Facebook spam-vertising or, well, LinkedIn. For anyone else that has found themselves at my free blog door step, Welcome! Come and peruse your way through the random, sputtering machine that is my brain.

I had the idea for this blog on my recent flight from Minneapolis to Cedar Rapids, IA. (For anyone who doesn’t “actually” know me, I’m a law student (and undergraduate alumnus!) at the University of Iowa) I’d been down in Atlanta for the weekend visiting a friend, and had a lot of thought-time on my connecting flights back to the Heartland.

I realized, as I flipped through the “Man At His Best” section of Esquire, that I waste a lot of time on the internet. Not that I’m not productive outside of this series of tubes. What I mean is, I spend a lot of time on the internet commenting on other things. These comments come in the form of direct comments to news articles or on film blogs, and a slew of Facebook status updates and wall posts. I figured it would be a lot more useful to consolidate these comments and such in one place. Plus, I figured I could amuse some bored souls on the internet with my insights into what it is I see in the daily offerings of the blogosphere, cable news and local dailies.

So here it is, my SoapBox. I hope you all enjoy it.
